My Dear Friend Toye, I know you are resting in heaven peacefully but you are always on my mind. My heart goes out to your entire family. I pray for their strength and God's comfort. We had some fun times and I will miss you. I'll carry you around in my heart until we meet up again sis ๐Ÿ’ž

I will always remember your beautiful, giving and loving spirit. From the moment of our first introduction as parents of college freshmen, to your last attendance at our annual party. I know that you are resting in the arms of our Creator. You are forever in the hearts of the Austin Family. Much love and warm hugs to your family from ours.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

Toye was a light for everyone she metโ€”and not just because she had a smile that could light up a room. Toye could easily have become bitter and hopeless after Bryantโ€™s death, but she chose to become a gun violence prevention advocate instead. Her work with Moms Demand Action was greatly admired, and her survivor story will continue to help raise awareness and inspire volunteers to #KeepGoing. The world was a better place because of Toye. She will be greatly missed.
