Sister Morris was a faithful member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Gonzales, TX 78629. Her family were some of the founding members of Providence established in 1874. She was a faithful member until her health declined and her daughters moved her to Houston. Sister Morris was the Sunday School Superintendent, a Sunday School teacher, she was the Mission President and sang in multiple choirs. She served in whatever capacity when asked. We loved her and she will be missed. In our Church the curtains which covers the baptismal was sewn by her. She was known in the community as a "fancy cook" and a seamstress.

(Sister) Morris was a wonderful woman. She was a faithful member and leader of Providence missionary Baptist Church in Gonzales Texas. although she's been in Houston for 12 years or longer when she was physically able and when she was confined to her wheelchair, we would pick her up and she would attend Sunday school, and morning worship service . She sang in the mission choir, and the Gospel choir. she was Sunday teacher, school Superintendent and Mission President.
(Cousin) Gladys, as we fondly called her was also an excellent seamstress who taught me how to so zippers. (LOL)
She will be deeply missed, and we will continue praying for her family.
