Charlotte and I grew up in South Union. She was younger than me, but I was a good friend of her brother Emmitt who is now deceased. I had the pleasure of teaching her son Jason. He and my youngest son graduated high school together and have maintained a wonderful friendship throughout the years. It pained us to learn of his mother's sudden death. I had wished that we could have been present at her funeral services, but my husband's therapy for his health issues made that an impossibility.
