Raymond C. Burford

October 7, 1960 – July 30, 2021

Celebrating The Life of Raymond C. Burford, Jr. – Many people knew him as Junior or June-Bug.

Raymond C. Burford, Jr. was born on October 7, 1960 in New York City.  Many of you may not have known this.  You thought he was just a funny Guy from Houston, TX.  His Biological Mother is Mary Richardson, his Earthly Mother was Wilma Burford, and of course his Father was Mr. RC Burford, Sr.

Raymond was preceded in death by his siblings; Roger Richardson (1/11/2017) and Renee A. Burford (8/5/2005).

Raymond is survived by his daughter, Briana Alexander, his Brother Harold L. Richardson (Sheila Holley-Richardson) and his Nephew Kendrick “Ken” Burford.  Raymond’s Niece, Shauna Richardson flew in to honor her Uncle.  Niece, Buffy-Nicole Mata, could not be here.  I may have missed many people, attribute it to my mind and not my Heart.

Raymond was a star athlete at Stephen F. Austin High School,  class of 1979.  Instead of pursuing a life of sports, Raymond chose ‘Service’.  He became a Law Enforcement Officer.  First as a Correctional Officer in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice; then a Deputy with Harris County Constable Precinct One.  His Professional Family is present here with us (I salute each one of you).  So many people thought he “owned” HEB.  Not many knew of his plan to retire and spend a lot of time with his Brother and a very special lady, Koretta Davidson and her son Kendall.   I’d be remiss if I did not mention Giado, Mr. Ross and Snaps.

Spend your minutes, hours, days wisely, it could be your last.  Choose Love over Hate.  Forgive People and Remember; we’re all Human, with a very short time here on Earth (Choose Wisely).

Raymond was a very private Man.  A very small circle filled with many, many, many (did I say many) Friends.  Some of you never knew how much you meant to him.  Some of you knew.

“It’s a Beautiful Day.”

To my work bff, I will miss our daily phone calls just for you to ask an address, or your bubbly personality walking in the office, talking about silly things. I will also miss the new cologne previews, you defiantly cornered the market on new smells, rest easy my work friend.
