Mr. Tennard was the epitome of what a neighborhood father should be. His character was such that the children in Sugar Valley stood up and took notice. He will be sorely missed. May the Lord Jesus Christ welcome him into his Holy Kingdom.

Father’s Day will never be the same. My heart is broken and the tears will not stop flowing. It’s hard to grasp that Daddy drifted peacefully into heaven on June 7, 2020. Yet, I am eternally grateful to God for his life and the wonderful legacy he left. God chose you to be my daddy and I couldn’t have asked for a better one. I honor and cherish you for a life well lived. Daddy, you were a gentleman, confidante, provider, leader, entrepreneur and comedian. Thank you for leading by example. Your love for me was unconditional. I called you when I needed a listening ear and your words were always soothing. Now, those words of wisdom are locked in my heart forever. I can still hear your laughter, jokes, and prayers and seeing you dance. Your presence is in this house. You are the “last of the Mohicans.” I will cherish our time together. Rest on Daddy. I will love you for an eternity. Thank you God for James Tennard, Jr. Happy Heavenly Father’s Day!!! P.S. Yes, he lived for 95 years but it doesn’t matter nor does it ease the pain.

I celebrate your dad’s home going. He lived a good life and finished his race well. May God keep you in your time of grief!
