One of my favorite people. The good news is that you knew God and you talk with him daily. So sad that you left us so soon..God bless you my friend. I know you are so excited to be reunited with your mom.

Emmitt I just found out on Facebook you have left us here on earth. You new me from the age of three and my aunt and uncle bought me home. I would look through the bushes and ask your mother where was her husband he should do the yard lol. God has gained a delicate ANGEL. I love you with all my heart. You raised me with everyone else. I use to get into trouble as a teenager and you rescued me. If I had known I would have been at the funeral. You represented class and excellence. The same as your mother Clarissa my second mother and she directed my wedding with such grace. I Love You Big Brother Emmitt. Parkwood for ever and ever. You will be truly missed.

We loved Emmitt! Through the years we spent hours sitting with him at the car dealership negotiating fair deals. He knew how to sell a car, discuss the bible and entertain you with a broad smile and strong laughter. We loved Emmitt! We are sad for ourselves but happy for him. May God comfort his family.

My heart is so sad to receive this news. I met Emmitt through mutual friend David Pollard while volunteering with the Miss Black Houston Pageant (even his lovely Mother Ms. Clarissa Thompson was also so kind to me during those years) We stayed in touch through Social Media over the years. You can now have sweet rest in the arms of Jesus! Praying with the family.
