I met Eddie (and two of his brothers) when they umpires little league games at Smokey Jasper Park. He was always cheerful and jovial but you could tell he stood on business. I was saddened to learn of his passing. May God's Strength, Peace and Comfort be with his family.

To the Entire Kelley Family, It was with sadness to hear of the loss of Bro Eddie Kelley. I’ve known The family all my life. I remember The late Garland Jr, Eddie, the late Jimmy Kegler and I going the PVU homecoming after the Lufkin Panther win over Marshall, 1977, a blast. Me joining my great Fraternity Omega Psi Phi was due to my belief of “ Friendship is essential to the soul”. RIH Bro. Kelley, see you at the Chapter!

Eddie Kelley was our next door neighbor for close to 30 years. However, he was more than just a neighbor with keys to our house. He was family. We loved him like a brother. May God grant his wife Yolanda and his daughters Tanika, Brittany, Brooke, and Brianna comfort and peace during these times. He will forever be in our hearts!

There has never been a better friend, colleague, and what I would consider a brother than Eddie. From the very first day teaching and coaching at Spring Woods with Eddie, I realized that God had given me a gift of a friend that’s was non-judgmental, caring, and would always be there at the drop of a dime. There was never a time that he didn’t make me laugh and wonder how lucky I was to have such a great man in my life. Yolanda, you and the girls will always be considered family to me and my kids. I have to think that at this very moment, some mouthy coach is getting put in their place in a Heavenly football game because the coach was wrong and Eddie made the right call on the field. I will miss your laughter, sassiness, kindness, and friendship you gave me. I love you Bud!
