Abraham Green

January 4, 1941 – April 8, 2020

Abraham Louis Green passed Wednesday, April 8th, peacefully. He had a long life of 79 years filled with love for his family, his many friends and his ”adopted sons.” He was born on January 4, 1941, son of the late Sidney and Cora Green of Bunkie, LA.

After graduating from high school, he proudly began his nine-year career in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he joined General Electric as an Electronic technician. After retirement from G.E., he opened a washeteria and appliance repair shop and maintained devoted customers.

He gave his life to Christ and served numerous year’s as an Elder at Palm Center Church of Christ. He was instrumental in introducing many to Christ and remained faithful at Westbury Church of Christ until his last days.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Green Sr., mother Cora Green, brothers Sidney Green Jr., Alfred Green, sisters Magnolia Ellis, Thelma McKenzie, Mary Smith, Carolyn Green, Doris Green and Annie Green.

His beloved wife Joyce ”Joyce Marie” of thirty- seven years survives him, sons Eric Green (Franchelle), Ron Green, Tim Green, Alex Green, daughter Dawn Green, his dear brothers Bobby (Josie) and Jake Green. Also, many much-loved nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and many dear friends.

For those, we hold most dear never truly leave us; they live on in the kindness they showed, the comfort they shared, and the love they brought into our lives.
