Jay Byron Burley, age 82, passed away on April 17, 2026, in Houston, Texas. 

Born on October 5, 1943, Jay was a lifelong Houstonian and proud son of Sedgwick and Rosetta Burley. He spent over thirty-five years working for Humphrey Co. Ltd., where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic before retiring. 

Jay will be remembered for his steady presence and the life he built in the city he always called home. He loved spending time with his family, listening to music, taking trips to the casino, playing bingo, and sitting on the front porch. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sedgwick and Rosetta Burley.
