HOWEVER, ANY FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS YOU SELECT WILL INCLUDE A CHARGE FOR OUR BASIC SERVICES AND OVERHEAD. IF LEGAL OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS MEAN YOU MUST BUY ANY ITEMS YOU DID NOT SPECIFICALLY ASK FOR, WE WILL EXPLAIN THE REASON IN WRITING ON THE STATEMENT WE PROVIDE DESCRIBING THE FUNERAL GOODS AND SERVICES YOU SELECTED.

ITEMIZED SELECTIONS

  1. SERVICES OF FUNERAL DIRECTOR AND STAFF

    Our fee for the services of funeral director and staff includes, but is not limited to, staff to respond to initial request for service: arrangement conference with family or responsible party; arrangement of funeral or other disposition; preparation and filing of necessary authorizations and permits; recording vital statistics; preparation and placement of obituary notices; coordination with third party's providing other portions of the funeral, e.g. cemetery, crematory and others. Also included in this charge are overhead expenses relative to our facility such as insurance, maintenance and utility expenses, secretarial and administrative cost, and equipment and inventory expenses.

    This fee for basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.)

  2. EMBALMING

    Embalming is not required by law.

    Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as funeral with viewing. If you do not embalm, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.

  3. USE OF FACILITIES AND STAFF

    1. Viewing - Visitation/Wake (per day)

      Our services include set-up of viewing area, placement of encased remains, display of floral arrangements, supervision of and attendance during the viewing.

    2. Funeral Service

      1. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home. Our Services include coordinating and supervision of the funeral service, staff to service, staff to attend the funeral service, and set-up and use of facilities.
      2. Funeral Service at other facility. Our services include coordination and supervision of the funeral service, and additional staff necessary to conduct funeral service at other facility.

    3. Memorial Service

      1. Memorial Service at the Funeral Home. Our services include coordination and supervision of the memorial service, staff to attend the memorial service, set-up and use of facilities.
      2. Memorial Service at other facility. Our services include coordination and supervision of the memorial service, and additional staff necessary to conduct memorial service at other facility.

    4. Graveside Service

      Our services include use of graveside equipment, accompaniment of remains to cemetery, supervision of graveside service, and staff to attend service.

    5. Autopsy Performed at Facility

  4. MERCHANDISE

    Our merchandise is listed but not limited to the following. We specialize in providing the hallmark of caskets. Our featured products consist of Batesville Caskets, the leading manufacturer in metal and hardwood burial caskets. Not all caskets are available in our show room; however most casket are available upon request.

    Other companies include York Casket Company, Aurora Casket Company, Esser Casket Company, and Funeral (Advantage) Containers Company and Wilbert Vaults.

    Since many of the caskets appear similar in appearance but may differ greatly in quality and construction, we offer the following to assist you in making an informed decision:

    We offer many different styles and prices of caskets and alternative containers from which to select.

    • Protective - these caskets are designed by the manufacturer to resist the entrance of air, water, and other outside elements. They may be constructed of varying gauges of steel, copper or bronze.
    • Non Protective - these caskets are not designed by the manufacturer to resist the entrance of air, water, and other outside elements. They may be constructed of metal, hardwood, or wood products covered with fabric.
